Difficult to find, because it is not in Markbreit

If you want to see this Renaissance shrine you have to drive from Markbreit to the small village of Gnodstadt. You will enter the village on the Breiter Strasse than you drive in until the center of Gnodtadt. Here you turn write up the hill on the Channs Strasse than you follow the street until you enter the Kreuzweg and you have to go until a sign will tell you that you leave Gnodstadt and there on the left hand side under big trees you will find the shrine which is simply called the cross. It is a relief on a pillar which together are about three meters high.To the front, the shrine shows a crucifixion scene with Jesus and two angels, the kneeling Mary Magdalena and Mary, the mother of Jesus with the disciple John under the cross. The sides adorn the depictions of Peter and Paul. Clearly visible is the year engraved on the south side, which dates to 1586.

Took us a while to find it

At the north-west direction Ochsenfurt at the end of the village Gondstadt stands between three so-called “crusifix-trees” a large Renaissance pillar chapel with Biblical figuresdating back to 1586, renovated in 2001 so the high artistic quality of the pillar with Biblical figures can be admired again. As there is no street adress I'll give the cordinates in Google Maps: 49.643283,10.115179, so at least others do not have to cross all fieldpaths.
