Had a wonderful generous tasting
Sep 2019
I came here with a friend not really knowing what to expect. Our tasting was set up by my local wine merchant in Australia as I have purchased and enjoyed Hauner wines and have them in my cellar. We sat with a couple from Switzerland and were poured 5 or so very generous servings of Hauner wine after a tour of the winery and the caper sorting room. There were some nibbles to accompany the wines. I like their wines and to meet the affable winemaker and get some background in this gorgeous setting was for me a real highlight. I am also pleased I can purchase their wines back home. We didn’t pay for the experience so can’t comment on the value but as a tasting, it was first class as were the wines.

An incredible exerperience
Sep 2019 • Couples
Tours start at 5.30pm everyday except Sundays, we went on a Saturday, the tour is free, we were delighted that one of the Hauner family members actually conducted the tour, wines and food pairing start at 5 euro per portion respectively. We had two couple and took two wine tastings at 20 euro each with had 5 wines and 5 pairings of food each, it was a lovely experience with beautiful wine and food, at tentative service and a gorgeous view.

Do you need more wine glasses?

We visited this wine tasting evening very hopeful that it would live up to the expectations we had after listening to good reviews. The host was pleasant as was the setting with a nice view to set the scene. I am sad to say I was shocked that after tasting a wine we proceeded to taste each wine in the same glass. Red following a white without rinsing the glass at least. Although the wines tasted good I struggled to tell the difference as they all tasted similar in the same glass. We were provided with nibbles while tasting (for the price of20 euros each, including 5 glasses of wine and nibbles). Nibbles is an exaggeration. There was a scattering of food on a plate which was a poor excuse for a platter. We asked for some more and we were charged additional 5 euros for another ridiculous amount of food. Overall I would rather drink a bottle of wine at home. It is obviously aimed at unassuming tourists who trust the local hospitality only to be let down in more ways than one.

Good wine and nice, organized wine tasting with appetizers
Aug 2019 • Friends
We visited the Hauner winery to taste the special Malvasia from Salina, a wonderful dessert wine. The visit to the winery wasn't very long, nor very impressive, but it showed the wine making process. The tasting is certainly well organized, with food to match each wine. The wine is good, with grapes coming from several eolian islands. The best by far for my taste is the Malvasia, a special grape of the Salina island. Worth the time!

This is a magical place. The wine tour is quick and informative, and Andrea is super knowledgeable and answered all my questions. View was FANTASTIC, and food is great. Capers galore! The wines are very good as well. Service by Francesca was lovely. This wonder really made my experience in Salina. It's right by the Lingua bus stop, and the walk back to the ferry terminal is beautiful!

A Lovely Evening At A Beautiful Location

Wine, food, ambience, spread out over a sprawling grass lawn, makes one feel right at home and envious of the owners. A special experience.

Wine time
Aug 2018 • Friends
Hauner Winery is located on the island of Salina. Best time to go is around 7:00pm aperitivo time so that you can sample the wind and nibble at their food. When we arrived we were greeted by the Grandson of Carlo Hauner Adrian who showed us how the wine was made and gave us a tour. we later sat chatted ate and enjoyed the wine. This is a must to do if you happen to be on the gorgeous island. If you enjoy a sweeter dessert wine, I highly recommend Malvasia OMG amazing.
