Gravina is a nice town. We really liked the place - easy to see other towns and not as expensive. The restaurants are excellent.

Must not miss
Jun 2018 • Couples
unlike Matera which although beautiful is quite touristy, you still feel that this is a town in which the locals live. In the evening we were the only tourists in the main square and it was great watching the locals taking their evening walk, young and old. Not as pretty as Matera but should be on your itinerary of things to see in Puglia.

There are a few things to see in Gravinia but it is nearly impossible to find them. Otherwise a very ugly and busy town.

whether you want river neolithic remnants, subterranean caves or churches, castle in the vicinity, farmlands, historic settlements- there it is for you. Alta Murga National Park and Silgion in the vicinity. Fine local food, small hotels - an underexplored location

A lovely village with long history, cave churches and underground town to visit. Try the walking guided tour, it takes you to surprising and fascinating places. Worth to spend here a day or two.

Very interesting stop-over.

My girlfriend and I stopped over here on our way from Positano to Bari. We stayed 2 nights. Learning about the history of the town was interesting, the people were super friendly and the local food was delicious. Make sure you are on the street around 8pm at night to see everyone out and about, walking around and socialising. Such a terrific sense of community!
