Not what you might expect in the Gargano, it's deeply, deeply refreshing. Get away from the beaches and sun-loungers and bikinis and music for a while, come up here to the cool air, and relax in the quiet shade of the huge, ancient forest trees....More

we spent the day in the Foresta Umbra, the forest takes you back in time with an ancient feel. The drive was amazing with curves, switchbacks, secluded tree lined areas as well as clear areas with tremendous views, a true Gem.

Walking and hiking on hot summer days in the shade of this beautiful forest is really rewarding. The temperature is really 5 degrees lower than at the beach

A wonderful drive along quiet rods through this uniquely ancient woodland on the Gargano peninsula. Huge oaks and magnificent beeches give it a cathedral-like atmosphere.

We walked along a trail departing from the lake. You do not have breathtaking views, but the nature is beautiful.

Hello, I'm sorry but I cannot tell you. We were there on a day that the visitors centre was closed so I don't recall if there was bicycle rental. Regards, HJ
