Anita... or whatever her name is called is a very old whinging person, instead of been polite to her customers decides to shout at people? Very rude if I must say? Signs should be correctly posted for smoking areas. Instead of locking doors on customers and shouting in their faces.
If she was polite and just said you are not meant to use this door then fair enough? Very rude old lady indeed!!!!

I think it is a good location for a wedding or party, quite a favourite of my family but because the ceiling height of the upstairs room is low in some of the seating around bar area I find it too noisy to really enjoy the music or have conversations with other guests.

Visited the club with a group of friends for a mixed open. We were made to feel very welcome by the members. The course was very scenic, challenging and well kept. Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely course that seems to be seeing good investment, challenging course with lots of slopes, good bar with friendly staff

A great walk, not spoiled at all by the golf

It helped that we had a lovely clear day, so the views across to the high Pennines were fantastic. The golf is a lot of fun, on a really well-maintained layout around the valley sides. You do need to be quite aware of the slopes - many tee shots aimed at the high side finished well into the semi (or on the next fairway down) but the greens were very well contoured and putted beautifully.

A couple of things they could maybe fix in time - the flags were a bit diddy and gave a slightly cheap feel, as well as making the range to the green hard to judge. Also many of the tee platforms had settled rather badly, and trying to hit driver of a sloping deck is not easy.

Minor issues tho - do go and give it a run if you are in the area.

Wedding reception

Average bar prices but staff were pushing for guests to leave early so they could clean room. For a wedding reception this really isn't acceptable.

Friendliest of golf clubs

Warm welcome awaits at this tough windswept course and clubhouse. Everyone speaks and your always made to feel at home - ive played a lot of courses where snobbery is rife, but not here!
