We visited during the Christmas exhibition. Only a few rooms were open, but decorated like they would have been in the early 1900s. The staff was courteous, very helpful, and very knowledgeable of the house. Loved learning about how they celebrated the season.

Plenty for kids to do and run around in here. Nice cafe, too. Popular but not totally rammed, it's a great way to get max value from your National Trust membership.

Went to see the hall at Christmas and wasn't disappointed Not as spectacular as chatsworth but extremely low key and intimate This is the first Christmas they have done this and it was quite special in its own right Chatsworth is so very commercial
