This stop to see the German battery, bunkers and learn first hand some of the WWII history, is really worth the stop. Walk out to the cliffs and imagine the history - very moving and interesting to anyone.

We stopped here to look at the gun batteries from WW2, which are still located in their bunkers for you to walk round. Entry, and parking was free, and there are also great views out over the cliffs.

We had not planned to visit the Battery but glad we did. It was a stark reality check of the destructive armaments used by both sides in WWII. The huge German gun embankments complete with guns are definitely worth a visit. We followed the signs...More

well worth a visit. It still has its original guns from the war. Its like a time capsule. Its free to enter unless you wanted a guided tour which is not expesive.

Worth a trip for anyone with any interest in the horrors experienced by both sides during the Normandy Campaign. Don't expect much information, but it is quite easy to inform yourself about the battery before arrival. The sheer size of the casemates is impressive, and...More

If you are in this area don't pass on visiting these amazing gun emplacements as it certainly is worth seeing. Again, as most places in France, there is no entry free, it gives you the chance to explore what is left of the four gun...More

Very easy to visit with free parking, the site contains abandoned gun emplacements complete with weapons, which is unusual for the Normandy coast. Gives a real sense of the development of the atlantic wall and the defences the allied forces faced. Well worth a visit....More

A great site. The guns still in place overlooking the landing zone. Their emplacements showing the damage done by the allied bombardments. From the cliff top you can look along the coast to see the Mulberry Harbour.

We stopped off here after visiting Arromanches. There are four concrete German gun emplacements here which still have the guns in place. This was a part of the German Atlantic Wall and the site is in excellent condition. It is well worth a visit and...More

A few German batteries in great condition all within a few minutes walk. Free entry. Could do with more parking for the high season.

To my recollection, there were not holes on the top of all of them. The worst was battery 4 which was severely damaged when ammunition for the German AA gun exploded. The guns were disabled by the British battleships Ajax... More
