Interesting place for a walk round, didnt pay to go in, staff at desk a bit grumpy - and as others have said its not much inside-so decided not to pay E4.50 each. Was happy to look around outside and take in the views.

This building is astonishing from the outside. Well worth a drive just to see the outside. However, inside, it’s disappointing. Quite run down and uninteresting. Not worth paying for entry.

The monastery looks great from a distance but really thats where it is at it's best. Not worth the €4.50 entrance fee and there's little choice of restaurants in the surrounding villages. Better to stay on the motorway and get to your destination.

Certainly worth visiting, audio guide available in several languages. Information a bit lengthy, but no problem to skip to next number if desired. Impressive example of Spanish renaissance architecture, often referred to as 'Escorial of La Mancha'. Easily accesible, vast free parking lot, spectacular views...More
