We booked the tour mainly because we wanted to see the architecture "close up", feeling the 15€ charge (including snack) was excessive ... but, having taken the tour, we felt we'd enjoyed excellent value. The guide had an excellent grasp of English and of the...More

We visited the Ysios winery - Spanish architect Santiago de Calatrava designed the bodega. It is approximately 2 km from the town of Laguardia and we walked to it. From a distance it almost disappears into the landscape, close up it is a very impressive building....More

The Calatrava architecture and stunning mountain backdrop are more than enough to make this place a must-see. But the winery tour is also surprisingly well done. Highly recommend—unless you're bringing small children. This really isn't a place for them.

Popped here after having a lovely glass of Ysios wine in Laguardia. Staff were rude simply saying we hadn't booked a tour and were totally disinterested. I'm actually revisiting the region in a week and could have booked for then but now totally disinterested in...More

I visited this winery recently for a tour and tasting. The tour was very informative and the winery unique with the modern architecture. Definitely one of the coolest wineries I've ever seen. I would recommend this on a first trip to La Rioja especially with...More

We visited the area and drove to see the architecture of the bodega but did not actually walk in the property. We were there around 7am and the early morning provided an incredible back drop of the mountain and fog/mist all around it. The building...More

This was probably our least favorite of all the wines we tasted in la Rioja. They had a lot tannins and were very dry, so if that's your style of wine, you might disagree.

We arrived to find the rippling building with a background of cloud covered mountains. When we left we enjoyed full sun and wonderful views. The tour was first class, eight people with a very knowledgeable guide, the two hours flew past. The building inside as...More

We took both tours and that is a hard question for me. It probably depends on whether you are visiting other bodegas and whether you are a Calatrava fan or a Gehry fan. Marques de Riscal is a more traditional tour and has... More

Laguardia is a small town in the Rioja region. The Rioja is full of great wineries. Its part of the Wine Tour Region for these unique to the Old World wines of Spain.
