This place is beautiful. It actually has two cataracts, with the upper one being the wildest. The water plunges into a deep, narrow slot in the rock before heading downstream. Standing on the bridge you will get some of the mist. The lower falls also has a bridge where the trail crosses back to the parking lot side of the... More

It probably won't be the longest hike you take but it is a "don't miss" when in the area. Beautiful falls await you as you do this circuitous walk. The duration can be quite short if you're an avid hiker but is a very doable leisurely walk even if you're physically lacking.

We stopped here on our way to Coombs and took a little hike to the falls. They are literally 10 minutes from the parking lot and if you are mobility challenged not too hard a walk. There are hikes that you can do that are more challenging but we were happy just to take a look at the falls. There... More

This a a gorgeous spot 7 km off the highway between Parksville and Coombs. We have been here many times but always enjoy the beauty of the forest and Falls. With all the rain this fall, The Falls were roaring.

Spring, summer, or fall, we love coming to this place either for a walk, picnic, or both. The falls can be rugged and raw, yet a bit further downstream people are swimming.

Make sure you drive just past the campground to the day use area to the trail head. Not a long walk to the lower falls and it's a groomed trail.

Just a short drive from Parksville is a very interesting, beautiful provincial park with 2 waterfalls rushing in a very narrow canyon so not only is it magnificent but very loud. The hike to both falls is about 2 km and quite steep in some places. It is very much worth the time to visit this site.

We didn't know what to expect when driving down the winding narrow road for what seemed like ages but the falls were worth it. There are lower and upper falls. Both beautiful.

Put on some runners or hikers and walk from the parking lot through the beautiful forest to the bridge that overlooks the a large pool where you can swim then the shallow river moves onward to the falls. You wouldn't know the City of Parksville was just outside, it's so quiet.

Getting to the falls are a ways off the beaten path but worth the trip. Large parking lot and good trails. Take a trail to the falls and return on another. Great natural area.
