When I was there, there was also an exhibition from Prado Madrid with work from Velasquez and other artist from this period. I regret having done this because it's a big exhibition so it takes some time and after that you still have to visit...More

Another fine quality exhibit at this museum. The audio guide is not terribly necessary as the English signage is good and duplicates the tape at times. Good selection of good works, including 7 Velasquez and at least 1 Titian and 1 Van Dyck plus less...More

It was a nice western art museum and had some lovely painting and at of them were from famous artists, but I felt there could have been more.

The collection here is really a treat! It is not the greatest museum we have ever experienced, but it is very good. If you have limited time, make certain you go here first--there is too much to see here, and all of it is very...More

This is a fine art museum with some very nice impressionist paintings and Renoir sculptures. An added bonus thru May 27, 2018 is an exhibit from the Prado.

Definitely worth a visit if you are at all interested in art. This museum houses a decent sized collection of western art. In my mind an ideal size - big enough to satisfy and make it worth it but not so big that you get...More

I liked it so much! And found unfair that such a nice museum is not well advertised, and does not appear in the Top10 Tokyo attractions, where its place should be! Interesting building, nice sculptures inside and outside, beautiful paintings, many impressionists in the permanent...More

This place is highly recommended for ppl who are interested in Monet, Renoir, and Rodin. Museum has lots of art pieces and is good place to travel quite and calm. However, the moving line inside museum is quite confusing and space is too vast.

This is one of the first interesting things you see when entering Ueno Park. The building is modern and squarish which is appropriate for a museum of western art. Located outside the museum is a garden with copies of some European masterpieces. The cost of...More

Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old
Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa.
Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit
a variety of different museums and galleries. At
Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the
grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed
alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at
the end of the year, when many people go on shopping
