A surprisingly large park, beautiful in cherry blossom season but great any time of the year

If you are looking for an escape out of the city, then this is a good option. Take the Seibu Ikebukuru line to Shakujikoen station, take the south exit and wander about until you... read more

I have lived here since 1996 and is hands down my favorite suburb and park in Tokyo. It has a very natural feel with its own eco-system. I've even seen a snake once, Green General or Midori Daisho something along those lines. A real comfortable place within a few minutes of the Yamanote line. Although Shinjuku Gyoen is close.

Loved walking around it! Restful! A perfect place to bring the small ones, the crumblies and even for a romantic walk with the Dictator! ADORED the little restaurant with the eighty-year-old waitresses! Authentic 日本 if ever!

Tokyo is one of the busiest regions in the world and therefore spots like this are needed and good to forget for a moment how big the city actually is. The Park is divided. One side has row and pedal boats to hire. The park is here a little bit slimmer and has on both side complete different impressions. So... More

We went in october and it was quite a miserable day so the park didnt look its best with the amount of cherry trees this would be a great venue in april or may

If you are looking for an escape out of the city, then this is a good option. Take the Seibu Ikebukuru line to Shakujikoen station, take the south exit and wander about until you find it. The signage isn't the best, but when you get there, you will find a beautiful pond with strolling paths around it and row boats... More

Just a short walk from Shakujii-Koen station is this beautiful gem. It's a fairly large park with a variety of activities set around a lake. I might have missed it except for the size of the lake on the map. There are information plaques on the trees, trails throughout, a small temple, paddle boat rentals, fishing & a small bandstand....
