It is a gear place to visit. Situated in a very calm place. So mane people come to worship and to visit this shrine.

A nice and peaceful temple (at least when I was there). Make sure you do not miss the stone "babies" spread across part of the temple (parallel with the street that takes you to the tower) Location wise, you cannot miss it as it is next to the big "Eiffel tower" of Tokyo.

Loved this temple.... and surrounding gardens! Felt removed to another era and time! Well restored! Shopping area in the mall area somewhat distracting but otherwise not the usual type of shops. Shopkeepers gracious, kind, and welcoming. Quite an interesting stop!

A really interesting Temple. We were there when the monks were praying and chanting. you are allowed to take photos inside and out. The outside is very calm and peacefull, and the people were very polite and friendly

Zojoji is a Buddhist temple in the Shiba neighborhood of Minato. The main gate is striking and as one enters one sees the Daiden (Hondo) or main hall however I wasn't able to go inside. There are a number of other buildings and a large big bell, Daibonsho. Deeply touching is the Garden of Statues of Unborn Children - rows... More

I came into the site from the Tokyo tower side, instantly then main temple was there for me to visit... I spent two hours enjoying the peace and solitude, visiting both temples and walking the grounds. A special bonus was the exhibition under the main temple of Meiji ceramics, ancient scrolls and on loan from the British trust mausoleum model.... More

Usually take a walk through the precincts of Zojoji when I'm in the area. Two temples side by side, nice gardens, fascinating tori gate and all in the shadow of the Tokyo tower.

Found out it is the Biggest Temple in Tokyo, made 600 years ago, a Buddhist temple. When we went no festivals or anything were on in September. However, people were doing offerings. Which is 500/600yen offerings. On your way to the Tokyo tower if you're walking from Minato. Firstly, you'll see the big red Sangedatsumon (main gate), as you go... More

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighbourhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
