Cute area..But not much I'd buy or eat

I've noticed many people here writing about the REAL Ginza. There are hundreds of mock "Ginza"s in Japan. In English, it might be somewhat like "Main Street". A town's most "up-and-happening place" (a Main Street) is called Ginza. These mock Ginzas usually do not have high-end quality department stores and imported brand good shops. People are making fun of "their"... More

A bit off the beaten Ginza path but interesting enough to deviate for half an hour or so. I myself didn't really find too much that would interest me enough to buy it and the restaurants are perhaps not to my personal liking... but again, it's worth taking a small sidetrip, wandering aimlessly, and grabbing a few photos.

This area of Tokyo is well worth a visit. Lots of different types of shops - Ginza seems to be the fine r area for tourists to shop. I bought my wife a ring here - all the staff are very helpful.

On the weekend, the main streeets are closed to traffic, allowing people to stroll around. Restaurants put tables, chairs and umbrellas out in the street, and there are street performers and musicians. A great atmosphere. And you can peer in shop windows as well.

If you want to know more about the traditional Japanese way of life, Sunamachi Ginza is one of the best spots in Tokyo. I believe you are really excited to see locals enjoying living everyday life there. Sunamachi Ginza (砂町銀座) is a famous traditional shopping street. It is featured on Japanese TV shows at times although it’s hardly known to... More

I live near here, but I recommend not only for locals but also visiters! You'll feel the place is so busy and people are so energetic. Not so far, if you take a subway and bus, from SkyTree, the tallest towar in Japan. The closest subway station is "Nishi-Ojima" of Toei-subway. The street called "Sunamachi Ginza Shotengai" in Japanese. You'll... More
