Address
Neighbourhood: Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.

The current Bachelor Hall is a historic building built-in 1928. It has evolved into a place to exchange knowledge with relatives of former Imperial University (National 7 universities). The curry provided at THE SEVEN'S HOUSE restaurant here is delicious. The Clark Curry, named by the great Dr. William Smith Clark, a professor at Hokkaido University, is delicious. A great curry with five grains of rice and beefsteak and vegetables is worth a try.

This property is in principle an university club of 7 previous Imperial Universities. They accommodate a hotel, three restaurants ( Japanese, Chinese and French), bar and meeting rooms. I was invited by my friend who graduated from one of the seven Universities and dined at its French restaurant. Latin, They served only set menu in for dinner but I was pleasantly surprised by its high quality and modest price. The Canal was outstanding and we enjoyed a bottle of house red. Two of us were completely satisfied. If you have a Japanese friend and he/she is a member, it is worth to demand to be invited here. If not, still, non-members are welcome as far as tables are available. It was nice experience to dine in the historical building which locates very close to Kanda Book street and short taxi ride from the Tokyo Station.
