Well worth a visit
Jul 2019
Parked in the little town below and walked up. Amazing place to visit and amazing views - just look at all the photographs. A couple of little local bars in the village below which are good to visit - complementary tapas in this part of the country as well.

This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Beautiful windmills... they bring you back to Cervante’s pages.

Spending Time with Scenic Windmills
May 2019 • Couples
It's really neat seeing the row of white windmills on the hill. And one of them you can enter and climb up to see how it works. Other than photo ops, though, there's not much else here. But we enjoyed being close up to the windmills.

Fun side trip
May 2019 • Couples
My husband read Don Quixote so we made a slight detour on our drive to Toledo. The windmills are quite fun to see from afar and up close. Several of them have a small business inside - a gift shop, a snack store, a (tiny) restaurant. Word of warning: DON’T wear a skirt! It was very windy and I made this mistake. Quite a spectacle. I bought a miniature windmill replica for 3€ that is quite cute.

Great value visit
May 2019 • Friends
We bought tickets for €4.50 and for this we got to go upstairs into 3 of the windmills and all of the castle. The castle in particular was impressive, but the windmills are very photogenic. We recommend this as a visit.

Beautiful
Nov 2018 • Friends
Probably the best place to see the famous windmills. Just off the highway and with easy access this place needs a couple of hours to take in all the views, the castle and to walk from one end to the other. Very enjoyable and a photographers heaven, especially early or late in the day: Magnificent

A Don Quixote moment
Nov 2017 • Family
We stopped by the windmills on the drive from Cordoba to Toledo. The windmills in the Cerro Calderico Ridge are beautiful. The Rubio Windmill retains the original milling equipment which you can view. Depending on weather and time the miller can have the windmill working and grinding wheat. It is a great little excursion. The mill visit is 2€ if milling and 1.5€ if not and this includes a water (which would cost 1€) so this is a bargain. Very interesting and there is a video showing the milling process if you visit when it is not working.

Good break on the drive from Madrid to Grenada
May 2017
We saw the castle and windmills in the distance and decided to check it out. Well worth the side trip. There are 9 or so windmills and a castle. The entry fee covered a water and entry to the castle and the windmills. Windmills were very photogenic. At end of the road, there is a working windmill. The view from the top of the castle gives a great view of the plain. You can follow the signs to the castle and windmills once you get in the town. Use google to find you way back to your route.
