Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

The town of Orgosolo in Sardinia is famous for its murals. A town once famous for bandits, now attracting tourists with murals on various political and historical topics. These colorful murals can be seen on over a hundred walls in the city. Sightseeing takes the form of walking around the city. There is nothing else to do in Orgosolo.

Interesting place to visit simply to wander round and look at the murals. Other than that there's not really much else here.

Check out the bullet holed sign on the entrance to the town.

Motorcycling heaven judging by the number of bikes there

Very Nice tour. It's perfectly possible to only ask for explanation on certain murals thanks to the easy interfaces of the audioguide.
Two People get one guide with two complete headphones, so you can listen together. 10 EUR/two People.

A really good day, a lot more hilly than I thought it would be and the town roads are tiny, luckily I found a car park.
There are murals in most streets, and I do t think I managed to see them all, u fortunately I could not find anywhere that was selling a guide to the murals, although there were plenty of posters advertising the map

Next time I visit I will wear a sturdy set of boots and make sure I get a map. Well worth the visit could have spent a lot longer

There are many murals painted on the walls of the buildings in Orgosolo. We stopped here with our tour group and our guide walked us down the main street, explaining some of the murals. Many of them are political. The area used to be known for bandits.
We were disappointed, having seen other mural towns in other parts of the world, we found many of the paintings here in Orgosolo somewhat amateurish and not very interesting.
On another note, there are some lovely cork souvenirs for sale in the shops here. It is amazing what they can do with cork.

A trip to Orgosolo to see the murals is great day trip. We didn't use the available audio guide from the tourist info stand, but it would probably be worth it. The murals are beautiful and artistically high quality.

My wife and I went to Orgosolo for the murals, they are fantastic! Social commentary, history, resistance and more. The audioguide provided us with important context that allowed us to take in the richness of the area and these works. The business owner is warm and helpful and for $10 Euros, you get a walk-a-your-own-pace tour. It is well worth the modest cost! Enjoy.

The murals here seem to range from the modern to the old, some are faded with time. Interesting selection of modern politics and local history. International politics.

We ended up spending about two hours on a walking tour with one of the personal (human) guides named Giovanna. She was absolutely lovely, so well-versed in all of the local art, and clearly knew most of the people in town. This let her take us to some very special areas like the crypt of the church honoring a young women and then to a great cheese shop where this woman makes her own cheese, and then to a place where the last woman who makes authentic silk headwater is still working. Truly worth the e30 per person. Would highly recommend!
