Poor service
Nov 2019 • Family
I have been going here for years and sometimes take my dogs as they allow you to get water from their bathroom for them. Tonight I have to say the service especially from the lady was not great. She complained about the dogs to an old man who came out after we had finished the meal and told us to move the dogs who were both laying down. They got the order wrong. Wrong drink. An extra dish that we didn’t ask for and bread that we also didn’t ask for. The lady seemed more interested in having her cigarette. The chicken was also very chewy. If they do not want my custom then I will not go back.

The best Tapas ever !!!!!!!!
This amazing tapas bar by the seafront has it all !
You can enjoy your cold beer by the sea and taste the most tasteful tapas ever!
The staff are very kind and always happy to assist.
We visited 5-6 times and we will visit again next time!

Great bar and restaurant! I've been wanting to try "Puntillitas" baby squids in batter - didn't disappoint!! We also had prawns in garlic, pimentos de padron, bread, olives, water & a bottle of wine 22.70 euros - great value - go while it's still cheap

Good tapas and excellent value

Playa Honda is not the busiest place on Lanzarote but it certainly has one of its best tapas bars. We often walk here from Puerto del Carmen and always visit Bar La Caleta for lunch. The tapas is really good, the portions are generous and are excellent value for money. The octopus Galician style is a particular favourite: it is soft and delicious nothing like the tough stuff one sometimes get served elsewhere. The beach here is also fabulous but for reasons I have never understood almost always deserted.

Tapas are fantastic!

A brilliant menu well designed and extremely good for people with allergies to understand. Owner is great with kids too. The food is brilliant and cheap for the quantity and quality. You're sat overlooking the calm Atlantic ocean with the airport to the right with occasional noise. Bikes and people going past all the time it's a typical Spanish village with very nice people. Estofado is fantastic and he sometimes does a special which is basically a meat soup with lentils and it is simply mouth watering. Enjoy. Also look at casa Tere next door too.

From the Trip Advisor questions listed below it appears this Tapas bar is listed as an attraction!?!
Anyway it is a bar on the seafront very busy with locals and tourists alike. You may have to sit on the sea wall in front of the bar and wait for a table as it is busy at lunch times but it is worth it. Nothing fancy, metal tables and chairs, the wine is o.k. after the second glass but the view, atmosphere and food make up for it.
We had two beers, a bottle of wine a coffee and 5 tapas dishes for 25 euros.

This is a modest tapas bar, popular with locals and visitors alike.
Very good tapas very cheap. Friendly and efficient service and a very nice relaxed atmosphere, right on the sea front.
This is not sophisticated restaurant food but for authentic tasty tapas you can't go wrong.

Reasonably priced tapas bar
Jul 2014 • Solo
On the avenida of Playa Honda overlooking the sea, very pleasant spot. The drinks are very reasonably priced and the tapas etc are also competitvely priced although perhaps not as good as some places. Altogether a pleasant bar.
