Quiet local beach
Dec 2020
Stopped here on a walk from Playa san Juan, little beach with locals. Handy steps to get out of the water. Ideal if you want to chill and read.

Nice easy coastal walking
Jan 2020
Easy coastal walk from Alcalá to Playa de Arena. The Alcalá end has been recently landscaped with easily accessible beaches, play areas etc. Then there is a short unsurfaced section below the ex-banana plantations linking to another new path bringing you into Playa de Arena. From the unsurfaced section to Playa de Arena is signed as private, no access, but much used by walkers!

Lovely unspoilt fishing village
Oct 2019
Have been visiting this area several times over past 5 years and so pleased that it remains unspoilt. There have been a few more restaurants opened up and all seem to be authentically Spanish. The market is still a place to go to on a Monday followed by a coffee or beer around the square. Lovely coastal walk past the Gran Melia, also great bus service into Los Cristianos and beyond.

Quiet, friendly snorkelling
May 2019 • Family
A lovely quiet harbour, 17 euros from Hard Rock Cafe. Great cafe el Verdi who sold beer, moktails and ice creams plus food. We are a family with a 9 year old boys and 14 year old girl. Both had a great day two trips out to snorkel. Included climbing onto the lava islands and jumping back into the sea. The only bad thing was daughter would of liked the black beach to have been bigger.

Wonderful little fishing village
Feb 2019 • Couples
We visited alcala to go to the little market but fell in love with this lovely place..alcala is between costa adeje and los gigantes...we stayed at playa de la arena which is 10 mins by bus away and travelled everywhere by public bus.. €2.90 for both of us...bargain!! I highly recommend visiting the market in the square then have lunch or just a cervesa in one of the lovely little bars around the square..we had lunch in the square beside market (2 ham salad sandwiches, (massive bagette type) portion of fries, coffee and a beer for €13.. absolutely delicious!! Great service by james,in a lovely little bar/cafe called food avenue..highly recommended!! 1st class place. Then we walked around to promenade right along the seafront to la jaquinta beach which is beautiful...fabulous scenery along the way!! Georgeous place!!

rocky beach in the old port
Feb 2019 • Couples
the beach is just a small area serviced with entry passes to the sea. when the sea is quiet the swim is really enjoyable. I can sun bathe on the concrete floor of the old port using hired chairs or your own if you have it.

Walking to Alcala
Nov 2018 • Couples
There is now a very good coastal path which connects Alcala right along to Los Gigantes. Its a great walk you pass by many little bays with beaches and some little lido's which you don't see from the road.In Alcala there are places to get something to eat and as you enter Playa la Arena .Make sure you take some water with you,sun cream, and swimming gear. You can walk both ways or get the bus back if you want.
