Very moving spot particularly for Canadians. So many young men on both sides died here for no reason that could make sense. Everyone, in particular all Canadians should see the memorial and site.

This is a must see if you have any interest in history. Although this seems to be the same comment I could make about many of the places connected with WW1 this one is, in addition to the history, a very beautiful monument in a...More

The Canadian National Vimy Memorial absolutely took my breath away. From a distance it is impressive but close up I can honestly say it is one of the most beautiful memorials I have ever seen. Simply breathtaking. The trenches on the other side of the...More

We went to Vimy Ridge with our son (who is a currently serving Canadian soldier) and his wife & daughter. It was a gorgeous Fall day with the memorial standing tall against the blue skies. You can understand why this location was so important, as...More

Places to park at the museum and also at the monument but the latter can be a bit busy so do think about walking up - it's only circa 15 mins. Parking at the oblong museum you're greeted inside and can wander around before moving...More

We were travelling from Paris to the Eurotunnel and as our crossing was late evening, we decided to stop at Vimy en route. The long drive through the forest made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, as I imagined soldiers weaving...More

We didn’t pre book when we went in May. I’m unsure if you are able to pre book, look on line to see as it will be busy this time of year.
