Having not been to Howick Falls in over 20 years I was keen to revisit. It was a shock to see that the government has done zero upgrading. litter surrounds the area and the signs are misleading as the Put-Put corse is derelict and the foot paths heavily overgrown.

Great markets and shops and lovely coffee shop. The falls are not that spectacular. Mind you I believe they had been short of rain.

I can remember how majestic Howick Falls used to be as a child. It was like a trip down memory lane after all these years but indeed with time, this place has changed. The vicinity is very poorly maintained. The same applies to the actual hiking trail down to the bottom of the falls. Such a pity that the litter... More

We always stop at the falls on our way to coast to stretch legs and a cold drink or snack. South Africa 's fourth highest waterfall. Nice curios shops and restaurants.

The Howick Falls is very nice, but nothing to really get excited about. Sadly, the area around the Falls is being used as an informal settlement as far as I know so the site is not the cleanest and the river water seems to be used now for other activities! The area around the Falls is very pretty, very quaint,... More

The waterfall and valley offered a stunning view, I would recommend the detour. I was saddened to see litter, broken bottles all over the walkway and nearby grass area on our way to the viewing platform. Instead of being an asset for the whole community, I am concerned that many visitors could be put off and simply drive away after... More

The local Zulu people call Howick falls the place of the tall one. After all, it is more than 90m high and has long captured the imagination of people everywhere. From a little girl, we were in awe of Howick Falls, looking forward to visiting this tourist site and witnessing each time for ourselves, the awesomeness and magic of Mother... More

Stopped for a quick visit to Howick Falls. The area was pretty clean and parking easy. Falls were as impressive as ever. If you want good pics, go in the morning, when the sun is shining on the Falls

Sufficient parking and a well laid out view site that gives stunning view of the falls. Height same number of days in the year (if you think in Imperial measure ) 365 feet. There is a well marked, but be warned, need to be really fir and up to it, walk to the base of the falls, and this view... More
