Made a 100k detour to visit this morning. Open according to their web site Sat morning 9 to 12. Closed. Not a soul in sight. Sign outside even said open 9 to 1. We were there at 10.30.

This little museum is jam packed with exhibits and memorabilia all with extensive notes and explanations in English, Afrikaans and Zulu. Set aside at least an hour.

The museum is located in the centre of the town. It is surrounded by litter and hawkers napping on the benches. However, this museum was recommended to me by various people, and when I walked in, I immediately knew why. I was greeted by two...More

First of all, if you are not interested in history, or have no general information about the history of South-Africa, it's best to skip this museum. But, if you are interested in the history of the Anglo-Boer war in South-Africa, this is a must-see. There...More
