This was my first visit to this area and our family group of five people drove to see this castle. It is not occupied and you can see all of the first floor and only a portion of the top floor. The views are phenomenal...More

A bit expensive to visit but very impressive. This is the work of a nerd. It's perfect for children to rebuild in Minecraft. The interior is a bit empty, it would have been better with more lively decorations, pictures, paintings, furniture, etc …

Castel del Monte occupies an imposing situation at the top of a hill, giving it sweeping panoramas to the Adriatic and across the limestone plateau of Puglia. It is in remarkably good condition for its age thanks to substantial reconstruction. It is a fine example...More

Originally more a meeting place to impress rather than a fortified castle. It was interesting but there was little inside of much interest. Be prepared for lots of stairs to get the second floor. I guess it is worth a visit if passing by.

Castel del Monte has a site entroned on a hill, construction in 1240 by Frederic II: there are no windows and it's octogonal with towers around; I visited some times ago at Easter, it was cold and it snows a little bit; at this time...More
