Visit as part of a tour of the moai on the island to see the quarry where the red rock top knots were made, and many still remain.

Enjoyed a short stop here on our tour. It is included on a half day multi-stop Tour. Puna Pau is a small extinct volcano whose name means “dry spring “

Also another guided tour. This is the quarry site and is very interesting. The red top knots were made here and rolled to their final site. By the time they arrived they were the correct size.
