Stopped off here on our tour of southern Italy. Lovely hill top town and fabulous castle. It was surprisingly empty when we visited; no crowds which was great to walk around this interesting structure with its fabulous views of the local area.

So far this Castel impressed me the most in Central Italy. It has been fully restored and is in prestine condition. It is also a museum and can host weddings. Plenty of information is available. This is money well spent and very highly recommended.
From the highway , you can't miss the commanding presence of the castle overlooking the valley. The castle was severely damaged in the earthquake at the start of the 20th century and restored. There's not that much to see inside but the views are impressive...More
