We visited the caves on a rainy day, and we went into the caves together with a tour guide, who was very experienced in the Han caves, but not in the ones of Lorette. He therefore had to look for light switches and so on. He was well informed on caves and so on, however. The visit was impressive, but... More

The cave of Lorette is a smaller, vertical cave overshadowed by its nearby big brother Han, but very much worth the one-hour visit. Unlike Han, this is a vertical cave, taking you about 70 meters down into the hill.

We really enjoyed this because it didn't feel that touristy, wasn't crowded, and the guide was friendly and knowledgeable. I've visited many other caves, and although this one does not have the most impressive cave formations I've seen by any means, it still felt like a little adventure, and did have some impressively tall caverns (one in which they turn... 624 stairs, fun guide, great walk at ten degrees, originally we were going for a walk, yet it started raining so we hopped in the car and got to experience something unique in the world. Very good explanation by the guide, and a wonderful experience

This attraction is an easy walk from "downtown" Rochefort. Since it was the last tour of the day and October is far from the peak season, my daughter and I were the entire tour group. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable (and a really nice person) and gave a wonderful tour of the cave -- one of many limestone caves... More

We had planned to visit the bigger and better known Han cave but the place was packed, there were queues and parking was a nightmare. So we kept driving, saw a sign for Grotte de Lorette and made a spontaneous change of plan. Wonderful cave with lots of stalagtites, stalagmites and curtains, and lots of interesting history. The sound and... More

Every cave has a personality and just like people, some are more likeable than others. This one was just average: nothing to write home about. If you've never been in a cave before then you'll probably find it pretty cool. If on the other hand you've seen lots of caves (I'm a geologist) you'll only be impressed by the two... More

When we were here it wasn't too busy, we memorized the timetable for the tours and decided to take the last tour of the day. When we came back, there were no tourists at all and they had actually closing up for the day, but they were so kind as to give us a private tour! That was impressive, 60... More
