Very, very impressive, kilometers of tunnels, chambers build into the hill and see the guns in one of the casemates. The guided tour is also very interesting and very well told by an experienced guide.this is a real must see for every military enthusiast.

Sufficient guides to ensure small groups. Very motivated guides No government funding, and still they only charge only 8EUR, thanks to so many volunteers. Sci-Fi-tech Germany elite, beating Belgian armee in their only "quasi-perfect" state of the art bunker complex. Frustrating to see so much...More

Fort Eben-Emael was the coping-stone of the Belgian defence in WWII. It was built in a mountain and housed around 1200 soldiers. By using gliderplanes German paratroopers landed on the roof and captured the fort in 36 hours. The guided tour (recommended) starts with a...More

Revolution in military affairs. Fort Eben-Emael was captured by Nazi Germany in a few hours using tactics and equipment considered science fiction by its enemies a mere day before (hollow-point & air approach by glider). Worth a visit!

Really good tour with a great volunteer guide. Don’t forget cash only. Limited opening hours but very flexible if you are a group. For food and drink afterwards I recommend the watermill next to the fort car park - Moulin Loverix.
