We had a very special four days at Iguana Lodge and Camp. The jungle is an amazing place teeming with life and beauty, but what makes Iguana special is the people. Gerlo was an enthusiastic and attentive guide, offering personalized trips out into the jungle based on our desires. Carina prepared delicious and abundant food, and was so sweet and caring. And of course Hanna was just a joy! It was a pleasure to spend four days with this great family. Roger and Diana were so lovely, fun and caring as well. We were sad to say goodbye! In my opinion, Iguana offers a very unique experience that you're unlikely to find elsewhere. It's a rustic lodge, but comfortable. Your excursions will be more than the typical jungle walks - you'll have the chance to meet and talk to the wonderful people living near the lodge, and you'll learn a lot about life in the jungle. And of course you'll see lots of great flora and fauna as well. By supporting this great lodge, you're supporting a larger effort to bring more support to the communities of the region (Gerlo is very passionate about this). I highly recommend Iguana and the wonderful family that makes it such a special place!

What an amazing place and people! The lodge has been 'five star' with our room being cleaned daily, and pretty well free of creepy-crawlies. Carina's food has been delicious and high health standards applied. Roger is a skilled boatman and the night trip looking for caymans was particularly exciting. Some of the canoes were wobbly but Gerlo provided life jackets anyway. Roger's a great handyman too! Gerlo is the most super host and guide. His attention to detail and expert knowledge in so many fields has continued to surprise me. For us in the UK he's a cross between David Attenborough and Bear Grylls! All the staff, and Hannah of course, have been really helpful and caring, as if we were part of their family. And, the Amazon has been full of surprises!

Gerlo, his lovely wife Karina and daughter Hanna were so lovely to stay with for the 5 days I was with them. Along with Diana, Roger and Mr Julio all making their own special input in our stay. What stood out for me when i was looking around for tours was that it was all Peruvian owned and trustworthy. Gerlo is a great tour guide and and it's so nice to see him just as excited to see the animals as we were as it really showed his love for the jungle. The Iguana lodge is an eco-friendly, peaceful lodge surrounded by beautiful jungle and at night the wildlife are like a sweet lullaby. Each cabin has it's own private bathroom but there is also a communal area to chat and hang out after a big day of adventuring. We saw sloths, monkeys, pink dolphins, iguanas and more! Mr Julio and Gerlo gave a great insight into the plants and history of the area which I found fascinating. I would also like to thank everyone at Iguana lodge for taking care of me and caring so much when i fell ill temporarily. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting an authentic, honest tour in the Amazon jungle. Thanks again for the great few days! :)
