Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Port de Pollensa was our favourite place! This time will be our last time unfortunately.

We spent quite a lot of money for a pine walk apartment right next to the beautiful beach. But the majority of our stay all we can do is look at the sea. The beach has had red flags up for days due to severe pollution, sewage is being pumped into the sea!

Thousands of tourists spending thousands of pounds to come here, and nobody is allowed to enjoy the sea/beach.

Having spent a lot of time in Palma we were shocked that it was in the much quieter Puerto Pollensa that the zips on my husband's bag were undone!! Luckily nothing taken as he only had water in there! Lots of signs at the bus stops warning of pickpockets and other thefts

The city removed the rental option for chairs and umbrellas and did not renew the license for the wonderful little beach restaurant. So no chairs, no umbrellas and no snack on the beach. It really ruined our plans because we love to spent the day on the beach but need some shade during the day. I know …. old people 😞

Beautiful place and Hotel Hoposa in Puerto Pollenca is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The staff were fantastic; the food very good; the hotel was immaculately clean. An important part of our holiday is being on the beach and swimming in the sea. Having spent a day swimming in the sea was horrified to be told by a local woman about the sea water. Looking it up in the local press it says sometimes the the sea has 10 times the WHO recommended safe level of E.coli. I asked the life guard and was told the water is tested by scientists and it is not good. A few days later we returned ( Gatwick chaos ) and again went to beach. It was a yellow flag. I asked if the water was safe and the lady said according to the last test result it was a yellow flag but that result was from two days previous and they keep the flag from the last result antil they receive a call from their manager telling the latest test result. The latest test result was late! She said she couldn't say if the flag should be red yellow or green for that day. We did not go swimming in the sea again. There are no signs warning people and very young children are playing in it. The authorities are risking people's health; it has apparently been like it for a few years. I have been going to Puerto Pollenca for 30 years before COVID and this was the first time since. Would go swimming at least twice a day in the sea but not this time. We located by accident one of the places where the sewerage runs into the sea from drains on Pine walk when a small truck came and pumped the drains and then we were horrified to see them lower the suction pipe down into the sand on the beach and pump out the same fowl smelling liquid as from the drains and it was black. Really ? The authorities in charge should hang their heads in shame.

Just a quick note to advisepeople travelling to Puerto Pollensa, you can no longer hire sunbeds and parasols on the beach. People are buying chairs, beds and parasols walking to and from the beach with them. Not fun when you are 70+ in the heat.

Playa del Port de Pollença is a sand beach located in the homonymous town. We came here at the middle of June and it was very clean and quite, so it is a great place to come with children, who can play with the sand and bath in the sea without danger. Also, from the beach, you can see wonderful views of the surrounding mountains and a lot of boats. So, here it is an amazing place to bath, sunbath, relax, walk and see views for all family (from children to elder).

We have been coming to the area for about 15 years and our loveliest memories have been made on the beach. Arrived this week and found sun beds, parasols and walkways for disabled to get to sea removed.
Really disappointed bought a parasol and chair (45) parasol blew away and chair rubbish.
Puerto Pollensa fairly quiet and restaurants slow. Looked on line to find varying information but local trader told us that sunbeds and parasols would not be in place this season. So disappointing due to return September but will probably cancel and book elsewhere.

We stayed at Hotel I’lla d’Or at the end of the Pine walk. There are RED flags along the walk as raw sewage is going into the sea. I spoke to the life guard and asked him why the Red flag , he said because of all the Pooh !!
This is outrageous, disgusting 🤢 and I definitely will not be returning which is sad because it is a lovely location.
The authorities need to take action NOW.

Great resort. Older couple with adult Daughter enjoyed a five day break. Boat tour was very good, and restaurants all a good standard and service. The Hotel staff really treated us well (Bahia Pollensa) stunning views at every turn.

Lovely beach with immaculate sand. Great views out to the bay and to the hills overlooking the town. Not too busy for the time of year I visited (September), with calm chilled vibe. Restaurants and shops further towards the centre of Port de Pollenca. Highly recommended.
