Be prepared for an amazing experienced as you descend into the largest mineral cave in Europe, but also be prepared to know where you need to go after you have changed into your white robe and slippers. Direction is NOT in English or at least not very visible. As a matter of fact, when we were there, the clientele was most definitely primarily Italian. Fortunately I am fluent and was able to help my guests navigate the wonderful grotta and mineral pools. After half an hour breathing in mineral salts in 98 degree humidity of the cave, we were escorted to the showers where we cooled off and changed into our bathing suits. The football field size mineral water walking pool was a warm 98.6 degrees under a beautiful Tuscan sun. You have the option of staying all day with restaurants and cafes poolside. We spent half a day and were ready and relaxed to leave after three hours. Truly relieved all aches and pains for a few days. I would highly recommend and plan on returning.

NOT THE TOP
Feb 2020 • Couples
The spa is not bad. Very interesting and unique experience the thermal cave, don’t miss it.
Massages ridicolous and expensive 80/90€ for 50’ and 120/130€ for 80’ and very very light for my taste. Maybe I was not lucky with the operators but I really feel unsatisfied:
Ayurvedic: lot of oil, really too much and never deep, too superficial.
Tuina: the most expensive one I had. Really superficial.
Head and Feet: little better and on line with what I expected but always too superficial

Relaxing and rejuvenating!
Dec 2019 • Couples
My husband and I took a train from Florence to visit the thermal pool and was not disappointed. We spent the entire afternoon hanging out in the healing waters and thoroughly enjoyed spending time in the jetted areas.

We were also very fortunate to witness a beautiful Tuscan sunset while in the water which made the experience even more magical. Loved it!

Attenzione ai furti!! / Beware of theft!!
Jan 2020
Pomeriggio particolarmente sgradevole.

Unpleasant afternoon.
Low level structure and at the end of the afternoon the surprise: someone had stolen my shoes.
Reported the fact at the reception. Rude answer: “We don’t care, it's your business!!”.
Back home in slippers, spent 100€ entrance fee for a cheap structure, lost 250€ of shoes.

The pool is Amazing! The Spa not so much....
Oct 2019
The thermal springs mineral pool is awesome. There are afew area that have stations where you stand and wait for the springs to jacuzzi out powerfully for about 5-7 minutes and then you move on to next stations and do the same. It’s such a healthy way to spend the day and it’s beautiful! I also booked a massage in the spa and was highly disappointed with the spa itself as it was old and run down and then the service was really lacking in care. She did the minimum amount of work and was barely present to me.the service is not cheap so I wanted to really get a good massage, but she was not really into giving her best. I booked a shirahdarah massage which includes really warm oil dripping on your third eye continuously for like 20/30 minutes while they massage you. The oil was cold and she was not touching me during the oil por, so I questioned her and she told me they usually don’t during it but would I like for her to massage me while it’s dripping and I-was like yes, yes I do. She could tell I wasn’t pleased so she did it but I was very underwhelmed with the whole experience and place. Skip the spa. Go to the pool and play all day. The cafe was good too.

Dear Guest, thank you so much for your reply. I am very glad to read that you appreciate our thermal pool, the biggest one in Italy filled with natural thermal water. The massage you booked is the "ayurveda and shirodhara treatment", that includes 50 minutes of ayurvedic massage and 30 minutes of shirodhara treatment. Shirodhara is an indian technique, in which the constant flow of warm oil that runs on the forehead, massages the head by bringing blood circulation to the brain and nervous system, this action leads to the rebalancing of mental activity. So shirodhara is not a body massage, but a complete treatment effective in reducing stress and tension, good for improving memory and concentration, nourishing for hair and scalp and helpful to eliminate insomnia and nervousness. I hope to welcome you back to Grotta Giusti in the future, kind regards Claudia Benvenuti Spa Manager Grotta Giusti

My wife and I were really loooking forward to spending a day spoiling ourselves after enjoying the beauty of the Tuscan countryside and averaging walking 12-15 kms/day for the past 10 days....
I don't normally spend so much time writing reviews but I'm not normally as irritated and pissed off at a total rip off.
We booked a number of activities: the thermal pool, the grotto, the mud detox an oriental massage and a facial treatment for my wife.
Total cost almost 600€ not including getting there.
The weather is not warm at this time of year....about 12C and the pool is open air and between 31C and 34C. It was OK but not more than that, lacking facilities such as drinking fountains....
The surrounding areas indoors were not kept warm enough so once you have the bathrobe provided on and it is damp, you become cold and unconfortable. You are provided with one bathrobe and one towel. My wife asked for another and they demanded payment. Only a request to see the manager got us another one...
The Grotto was the best thing about the place, interesting and very relaxing, beautiful, underground and you sweat those toxins out. As a one off experience, it was fun but I am loathe to reccommend it because of the rest of the experiences.
The mud detox was a joke....mud spread on legs, stomach and face, which are then wrapped in nylon for about 10 mins. A shower and topped off with some oil rubbed over your body.
The oriental massage wasn't oriental and wasn't a massage. Oil was rubbed over the body for about 50 mins. The 'masseuses' weren't professional, the room was cold and my wife was shivering by the end.

The staff were generally pleasant, with one or two exceptions, the poor experience not their fault.

I wouldn't be surprised if visitors got sick after coming to this place.

Great half day spa experience

The cave steam spa is a truly unique experience. Loved the themed areas:
Paradise, purgatory, inferno and limbo. The pool was warm, wished there were more jets.

We didn’t to massages but the facility looked nice.

Shuttle to and from our hotel!

We spent a lovely 3 hours here
We went on a weekday about 1pm, and happily found that we could have 2 hrs for €8 each! Bargain!
Was so calming to float in the pool. It was September, so we hardly got out for our 2 hrs.
The lockers are free & plentiful. You are given a cap to wear, as all hair must be covered.
There are chair/bed Jacuzzis at one end, which some older Italian ladies tended to stay in, but I got a chance to try a couple.
I was impressed, as was my husband

The Antistress for Two Spa Package was worth every penny
Apr 2019
This package is an all day event. We could arrive at 10 am and stay until 6 pm. We arrived around 4 pm, since we visited Pisa first. We got into the thermal pool, unfortunately started thundering and we had to leave. We went to the cafe next to the pool and had wine, while we waited for our scheduled time in the caves. The caves are a little small, but worth the experience. After this we were able to go back in the pool for about half an hour before our massage. I would definitely go back to this place again!

I was so, so looking forward to going here. I travelled over an hour from near Volterra. I checked the website many times and called twice. I was on hold for 10 minutes both times. In the end I thought I'd chance it and just drive up. On arrival the thermal pools were closed. No apology, no reason why it wasn't on the website, no reason why nobody picked up the phone earlier in the day.
Very disappointing. A lot of petrol and time wasted!

Dear Guest, I am sorry you couldn't enjoy your experience in our thermal pool. In February we had several closing days for special maintenance works, as written on our website. During that days we had special promotions for the Grotta and massages, in order to give the possibility to enjoy the natural steam bath in the cave and the other services with a strong discount. Kind regards, Claudia Benvenuti Spa Manager Grotta Giusti
