Very beautiful grounds and gardens. The Castle is very nice and we'll laid out so you can see the life and times of the owners through generations. I enjoyed the grounds A lot. They were very well maintained and offered some relaxing walking.

Feel bad writing negative reviews but didn't consider this castle to be up there with most other castles I have visited around Wales. The state rooms have to be the main attraction and these were well done and impressive . The exhibition featuring dust collected...More

Had a day out and headed for Chirk Castle. The gardens are fantastic and parts of the castle are very interesting too. It has the look and the feel of a castle ftom the outside but not so much from the inside.

My wife and I visited Chirk Castle yesterday and immediately on entering through the castle gate came across it's best feature - Mr. Nicholas Byrne who entertained his crowd with facts and anicdotes about the architecture and history of this reworked castle. Mr. Byrnes' colonial...More

It's quite steep with a hairpin bend. Some of our group took the NT minibus up to the castle and back again. If you have difficulty walking up slopes, I suggest you take the minibus to visit the castle. The setting and the... More

There is a little trek from the entrance to the castle of about ten minutes or you can take the mini bus which runs back and forth all day

It is very steep. With a power assisted wheelchair you should have no problems as long as you have a full battery charge. Need to be careful on the downward journey but would be "do able". Enjoy
