I loved the Rees River Trail with High Country Horses. It was such a great way to explore this area of New Zealand and I definitely recommend it. The scenery is drop dead gorgeous (even in the rain - dress warmly), the horses are great, and the guides (Yvonne and Emilita - spelling?) were really lovely. Even the gentleman who... More

The team at High Country were super friendly. Whether it be the bus driver for the trip out from Queenstown, or the lady helping with bookings- all of them were pleasant to talk to. We went on our ride in the middle of winter, so it was freezing! Silly us forgot our gloves and a second layer on the bottom... More

She told us some interesting stories. As à concierge in à resort in Arrowtown I Will definitely suggest to do horse riding there. Glenorchy is such a... More

Thank you for your review, the GOOD thing to come out of this review is we know that the MOST PRISTINE BACK COUNTRY of New Zealand is not your thing! Also that our horses, who must have totally behaved themselves to be called a "robot" are also not your thing, as stopping them from eating is for most quite simple?... More

Hubsand was given a horse which pig rooted because there was a loose cinch- this wa sbefore they even wnet anywhere. Horse became more and more nervy enroute and trek leader did not do act. Thank you for your review and we would like to add a few truths. We had 5 staff on that morning and not one of them saw any of our horses "pig-rooting" ! The cinch is the last part of our process before departure as we don't believe in having horses stand at the rail squeezed up tight. It not... More

Visited this last weekend with my sister and a friend. We have had a fabulous experience from the time that we booked (about 15 months ago) until we arrived. We booked the 'Around the Mountain' two day ride and were so happy with our horses (well matched to our experience), our lovely guide, Jess who regaled us with loads of... More

Thanks Guys, you did great. Love that you prepared well and were tough enough to take on Mother Nature on your second day. Our guides love taking our the AROUND THE MOUNTAIN rides especially when they have groups that are willing and able. We have taken on your suggestions and coat hooks and wine glasses are on their way to... More

The name is self explanatory... it really is paradise. My daughter and I experienced the 1.5 hour trip which was perfect for us, as we haven't ridden a horse for many years (and never very well). The scenery was spectacular (as becomes expected from Queenstown at every angle it never seems to amaze or get old). The tour guides were... More

Our great experience started off as soon as we were collected in the bus at our hotel by Andrew who gave us a fascinatingly informative commentary on the drive out to High Country Horses. He was fantastic! Then we met our horses who were well looked-after, and we were taken by the lovely Max through amazing country. Max and Andrew... More

Took two horse loving teenage girls who ride at intermediate/advanced level on the ride and they loved it. Guide was Max, who gave great instruction and information throughout the ride. River crossings, stunning mountain backdrops and plenty of opportunity to canter for long stretches. Great horses and they offered a 10% family discount, which always is appreciated when travelling with... More
