Thieves in the entire Teide national park
Apr 2021
The entire national park, including the Roques de Garcia is riddled with thieves that break into cars. This has been going on for years and no one from the authorities or the police does anything about it. It's ridiculous that this is known and just let to slide by.

You get then blamed for leaving valuables in the car. We had nothing visible inside and in the trunk a worthless beach bag with a towel, slippers and sun screen. They stole that in less that 5 minutes that we stopped to take a picture of Roques de Garcia. So think if it's worth it to go through the hassle of reporting this to the police who doesn't speak english (on an island where tourism is the main part of the economy) just to you get an official number to give to the car company for insurance because thieves broke your care that had nothing of value inside.

Must visit in Tenerife
Dec 2020 • Family
The whole Teide National part is a must visit in Tenerife and would say the pinnacle of the island.
Los Roques de Garcia walk is a pretty easy hour to hour and a half walk through amazing volcanic sites.
After that we took the cable car to Teide and climbed to the summit (need special permit) which made the whole day a superb experience in this amazing natural site

Really enjoyed it
Dec 2020 • Family
We drove today and it was well worth the drive.
The views were amazing and we enjoyed reading about the history.
Would 100% recommend it, and If you hire a car it’s completely free.
I would take a picnic next time as there’s some lovely places to call at on the way up.

Volcanic scenery
Jul 2020 • Friends
This is a very impressive and beautiful vantage point where excellent photographs can be taken of the rocky formations and El Teide volcano itself. The landscape can be observed at almost three-thousand metres high and is one of the more popular places for hikers and drivers to stop off at. It’s not far from the Park Gifts & Merchandise ship and has plenty of parking.

Make sure your footing is secure as you make your way towards the oddly shaped trio of rocks as it’s a bit of a clamber!

Truly amazing entry level Hike
Feb 2020
Like a lot of places in Teide National Park, the views from this hike are mind blowing!

The hike itself starts across the road from The Parador Hotel at the ‘Catedral’ Rock formation. It’s a circular route and is marginally sign posted, though it’s impossible to get lost. The route is allegedly 4.2km in length and should take around 90 minutes to complete. However, I sauntered around very casually and took lots of photos so hike time ended up around 2-3 hours.

The hike itself is very easy and should be able to be completed by even the least experienced/fit of hikers! It’s only the last section where the accent ramps up but it’s only for a few hundred metres or so.

I hiked in February when the weather was perfect, I’d it’d be pretty brutal in the height of summer as it’s so exposed.

This isn’t really a ‘hike’ in the truest sense, more an adventurous walk’ for tourists but don’t let that put you off, the scenery is breathtaking!!

My only criticism is the parking, trying to get a parking space in Teide National Park is horrendous. I literally drove between the Cable Car Station,mThe Parador Hotel and back again for nearly 45 minutes until I eventually got a space outside the Hotel (which is the best place to park for the hike itself).

An amazing, must-do experience!

Unique Otherworldly Rock Formations.
Nov 2019 • Couples
Afraid to say that we did not do the hiking trail around the Roques, but just stopped at the roadside to admire them and the way they dominate the surrounding landscape in a brooding fashion. They are quite awesome in their craggy sculptural form and make us mere mortals feel quite insignificant. The car park itself was stowed in a most haphazard way, which put us off trying to find a parking space there. It is worthwhile to try and perceive them from both directions for different viewpoints, and they look very moody & dramatic at sunset.

Almost like you are on another planet

When driving towards the teleferico of the Teide, you pass this site. So stop and enjoy this rocky landscape. It's a whole new world, and almost extra-terrestrial.

Fantastic views!

It's worth taking a while to go through the path around the rocks. Some great views along the route. But be careful if you're not very fit - at the and trail is very, very steep and it gets quite hard. But you can as well go to the middle of the trail and go back, views are just spectacular.
