We caught the bus from Oboke station to Okuiya and back. We had just under 5 hours before catching the return bus. This was easily filled in with crossing and recrossing the wonderful vine bridges, playing in the trolley cart across the river and back...More

Iya Kazurabashi seems a must visit. But I think there are too many people there. There are two similar bridges at Okuiya. You can walk over them as many times as you like. There is a wooden cable cart (yaen), which was used to transport...More

I heard a lot about the bridges and just had to go. The location is gorgeous but not worth the trip out all the way. The bridges are so extremely neat that it just feels too produced. I took a couple of busses to get...More

Popular with tourists, this bridge provides a relatively exciting way to cross the river. The bridge is entirely safe (rebuilt and constructed with steel wire) but there are spaces between the slats. Probably best not to look down.

This bridge is amazing, the views over the gorge are breath taking but for me the most interesting thing was actually crossing the bridge itself. I don't like heights much but I prepared myself and went for it. I loved it! You do need to...More

The roads in the mountain can get very narrow and winding with two way traffic. Make sure your GPS showing you a route you feel comfortable with. The place is very pretty secluded.. though with a lot of tourists... You can cross the bridge or...More

Sorry. I do not know the answer. We stayed in Oboke at an excellent bed and breakfast. We took the tourist shuttle bus to Kazura Bashi.
