Last surviving ninja house

This is a great experience forNy one interested in ninja history. I was told this is the last surviving original ninja house available for public visits. Guided tour started with... read more

Run down. This could have been so interesting & inspiring. Sadly a let down. The surrounding area is a also run down as photos show. Staff unfriendly. Waited 45 mins for an explanation in Japanese. Very little atmosphere in the area or in the ninja mansion. Small house with artefacts inside cabinets. Display explanations don't make any sense just copied... More

This is a great experience forNy one interested in ninja history. I was told this is the last surviving original ninja house available for public visits. Guided tour started with a short historical video of this house and koka ninja family. All of the guided tour is in Japanese only, including the tourism literature. On display are some amazing original... More

This attraction was absolutely worth the train trip and long walk up to the museum. Designed to showcase all of the tricks and traps built into the Ninja house, I pity the unsuspecting home invaders in this scenario. It just goes to prove that you cannot come close to understanding 'Ninja' from a TV show. There were secret panels, trap... More

Teen boys with some martial art interest will certainly love it. Guided tour was in japanese but you can ask english questions afterwards. Gives a good impression of how ninjas lived, a good collection of artefacts, secret traps and doors. You can throw shurikens for only 300 yen. Definitely worth the detour.

I went there by myself, which took me around 1hour something from Kyoto (so long....). However, everything is deserved as traps and design of the house showed ninja's wisdom! Moreover, you could rent the Ninja's suit and experience "weapon" practice!!

I visited here in the winter of 2005 in heavy snow, yet I remember it quite vividly, and I remember how so cool it was. Unlike the other ninja temple I visited recently, there is no ninja show, but rather a tour through the house where they show you all the hidden traps and entrances and secret floors. If you're...
