we had to walk for very long to reach the matri mandir in auroville.. it was a very hot day and we were really exhausted... they didnt even aloow us to enter the mandir... but it looked beautiful from outside...i loved it...

Most visitors go to Auroville and see the Matrimandir. But that is not what is meant for. If you really want to experience the Matrimandir, you have to visit the Inner chamber - meditation hall. Visit to the meditation hall is only with passes which...More

It is a beautiful place, planned by Sri Aurobindo and MOTHER. Started in 1968, Mother offer this to whole world, all people can come and settle here. Ready in 2008. Inside meditation is really a great spirituality.

this is a structure of unity. part of auroville city by aurbindo society. more you can read about it online. one have to walk around 2km to visit this place from parking area.

The Matrimandir is the main attraction of Auroville. It is the meditation center, entry to which has to be done 2-4 days in advance and in person. One can visit the view point on any day after taking free passes from the Auroville Information Center....More

You have to book your appointment to go inside as you just can’t walk in...any dignitaries visiting anywhere, restrictions will be there for their safety so better to check before you go....

You can visit Auroville. But you need special permission to enter matri mandir. Though you can book 24 hours prior to your visit but the wait period is usually a week.
