We visited after New Years and there were no crowds. The combined ticket with the ferry made it a reasonable outing. Great view from the top, but that is not the summit. Even with the gondolas and cable car, you have to climb a lot of steps. But worth doing. Recommended.

Climbing Mt. Misen can be a bit long and challenging, the ropeway really makes the hike easy. Great views along the way!

Taking the ropeway tram makes the summit of Mt Misen attainable for average people! Once you get off at the very top, there are good views of the Seto Inland Sea, but you have to keep going another 1 km to reach the summit.

Do not go to Miyajima without experiencing the ropeway. There is a bus available to and from the ropeway, otherwise it's an approximate 10 minute walk. You can choose a one way ticket and walk back or alternatively a return ticket. The scenery is amazing along with the Japanese gardens, Koi pond and buildings.

The views from Mount Misen are amazing but the ropeway (cable car) up is cramped and the queues are tedious.

I heeded the advice to avoid weekends but still had to queue for an insanely long time (about 1.5hrs on the way up and 30min on the way down). I understand that queues in peak season (I was there at the peak of the autumn leaves in mid-November) are inevitable, but this attraction would be so much better if there... More

Going up was a spur of the moment decision considering we didn't know about it until we got there. In saying that, I love going up cable cars making this a natural extension in our exploration of Miyajima. The wait going up wasn't too too long, although a bit longer than I thought considering that it was nearing the end... More

We're not exactly the most energetic type, so we took the ropeway up the mountain to save on a few hours of hiking. Once at the top, there's still a 30-minute easy walk to the summit which offers spectacular views. Visiting in early December, there was no long queue for the ropeway. Do take note of the last cable car... More

Good vantage point of the entire Hiroshima harbor, relatively quick ride up in some older gondola cars. This leads to a trail with a relatively easy hike to the top, of which wasn't all that great after doing it (skippable). This rope way was sufficient to get the views.

We only took this down the mountain to get a different view than the hike up. It's lovely. We were really fortunate to get a car with two others - some of the cars were packed and the lines were long. Still, as with everything in Japan, it was well managed, efficient and a great experience.
