After our hike up Mt. Misen and lunch, we came here to sit, relax and enjoy a nice breeze blowing through. There was a nice view of the village as well. There is an interesting collection of old paintings, faded with time, that we assumed...More

Senjyokaku is a big temple, which is standing on the top of hill. The inside is an empty large space, where you can relax while you enjoy a nice view of Itsukushima shrine.

Another beautiful shrine. Great walking and does charge a small entry fee. There are great old murals hung from the ceiling in this shrine and the wood floors look centuries old. The wild deer walking around add to the unique nature.

This UNESCO site is built on the seashore for the ebb and flow of the tide - makes it personal for each visitor as there are different things to see, we witnessed a traditional wedding blessing in the Shrine.

The size: it's pretty big. You can walk under it on one side, and almost feel this big building on you. The view from up here is good for photos as well.
