The landscape of Syöte National Park, with its rugged hills, special bogs on hill tops and slopes, and old spruce forests create an attractive setting for a hiker. Syöte is the largest of the four parts of the Park, and it offers excellent possibilities for hiking in the summer as well as skiing in the winter. The cross-country skiing trails in the National Park form a remarkable part of the skiing trail network that serves the tourist centres of Syöte.

We were looking for a peaceful and snowy Christmas holiday destination, and found Syöte to be the best option in terms of snow conditions. We had a cabin at the top of the fell with outstanding view over the area. Syöte was a great place for our purposes; pictoresque small scale ski holiday destination without any annoyances of bigger ski... More

Nice and green in summer time, with lots of purple flowers, wild blueberries and cloudberries. Activities include canoeing on the lakes, tubing on the river, husky hiking and quad biking. Spruce forests and reindeer wandering around.

Excellent national park to see old-growth forests and it's nature. Long and short trails around the park, both in summer and winter. Ahmatupa cabin just 8 kilometres from the information centre is good place to stay overnight. There is also a great view over the Syöte area from the nearby Ahmakallio viewtower. The exhibition of the information centre is very... More

Also it´s nice place for family and children. Not commercial and not so expensive as every other Lapland destination. Also it´s good to get all the food from Oulu or some... More

And not so far away from civilisation. Perfect place for skiing and downhill skiing. Have a trip in the forest, and you'll realise the meaning of the pure nature.

Just came back from Iso Syote and the scenic views were awesome. We stayed there from 10 March to 18 March and did many excursions like snow show hiking, snow scooter safaris, husky safaries and kick sledge rides. On the way the views were magnificient. Trees which were completely covered with snow.

Just 800 km from Russian border and you can see this snowy place with trees and stuff. This place got all that you possible would need during your skiing or snowboarding.
