This church is located outside Lanciano's historic center but does date back to 1427 when a primitive chapel was built in the convent. It was later transformed into a church and underwent a number of modifications including a rebuilt after the damages sustained in the bombardements of 1943.
The bell tower (one of the highest standing at 70 meters) was completely rebuilt in 1970 and blessed by Pope Paul VI.
The church has a beautiful portico leading to the entrance and inside has only a single nave with baroque paintings. The restored walls are of marble witha series of frescoes depicting the history of the place including one depicting peace concluded between Lanciano and Ortona. On the left there is a large chapel in neo-gothic style with a dome.
The church has ample parking in the front and hosts numerous activities as a parish of the area..
