i found myself with a 12 hr layover at the vancouver airport. Rather than sit around all day, I took a train to the last stop which was the water, to see what I could see. It just so happened that the tourism visitor center was nearby. I popped in, and said I had no knowledge of anything the city... More

Thank you for writing a wonderful review but I just wanted to let you know that you posted it to the wrong Visitor Centre. It should be for the Tourism Vancouver Visitor Centre on Burrard Street in Down town Vancouver. They would be thrilled to receive this review. You can get Trip Advisor to move it for you to the... There's more than tourist information here. This building has beautiful displays, a playground and picnic area. The walls are adorned with First Nation's art. Watch for the entrance as you drive off the main highway into Courtenay. A Tutor Aircraft mounted in front is something to see too. Check their website and download the self-guided tour before going.

I think this visitor centre was the best one I have ever visited. They had areas for resting, items to buy for gifts or keep sakes, but the most interesting part of this centre was the area they setup telling you all about the local attractions. The different type of trees in the area, what a average snow fall would... More

A well-designed and staffed Visitor Centre that drew us into helpful information about the area. The museum area provides attractive, up-to-date displays focused on information and attractions of interest to travelers. The focus is on the area as it currently exists rather than on history. Very well done. Impressive.

Great stop-off with a very friendly staff member who helped us greatly in advising us on local walks and attractions. Easy to find and park. Small coffee machine and some food I think, but plenty of seating - we were lucky to be in fine weather when we visited and sat outside the rear of the centre where it was... More

We stopped because the building looked very odd. A circle? Made of wood? The outside wasn't much compared to the inside, though. A few big touchscreens to learn about the area, several stands, and displays. So you can entertain kids with the exhibits while grabbing some travel info. Great idea!

I was impressed with this visitor centre. We stopped to use the facilities and stayed to take in the display area depicting local attractions and activities. It`s fun, has visual appeal, and hits the right tone for families and folks who want casual colourful information. There`s a decent gift shop, a couple of snack options, and a full-service reservation centre.... More

We have been into the center a number of times since moving to the Island and always have had a warm reception and excellent service. They even mailed us a package within 5 business days when we inquired about real estate etc prior to moving. The building itself is impressive as are the displays and clean washrooms. There is even... More
