The Kong lor cave is really amazing. 7,5 km in the dark with any lights; just a little flashlight. We went on a small boat for about 3/4h way back and went to the village of ban natham. Be carefull, we saw a snake. The countryside is amazing. Very quiet and very beautiful with tobacco fields all around. You can... More

Khong Lor Cave is located in Khamouane Province in Central Laos and is one of the highlights of travel in Laos and is probably one of the best cave tours in the region in terms of accessibility and a sightseeing experience. To get to Khong Lor Cave you will need to travel up from Thakhek or down from Vientiane. Those... More

We went there as part of the thakhek loop, and were amazed by the cave. We did the boat trip and that's where you get to feel the impressive size of the cave. We liked the boat with still a small portion of visit by foot when the caves allowed it, and the fact that you have to sometimes go... More

This was an enjoyable trip through the cave, however, it is pitch black inside and the lights they provided were not that great, so I would suggest taking strong been headlights. We visited in December and the river was low so on two occasions we had to get out of the boat and walk in the river bed whilst the... More

We did the Thakhek loop and of course did the cave. We went as a couple so we were two in a boat. The price was 124.000 KIP in total. Took about 2 hours. The cave is really dark so you get torches. Takes about 30 minutes to get through the cave by boat, its mostly just a really big... More

I had a quick scan of some of the previous reviews, just as a matter of interest and was amazed to read some visitors were underwhelmed with the Kong Lor cave? We LOVED it! Family of two parents and two teenagers and we had the best day. The boat trip on the long boat in the pitch black darkness is... More

We did the Kong Lor cave as an extra for doing the Thakek loop. I wouln't go there especially for the cave. In the end it's a very long and dark cave. It's something different to do it by boat but expect to get wet and water shoes are highly recommended as walking with flip flops through (streaming) water is... More

My boyfriend and I both loved Kong Lor Cave and the surrounding village. The village is located in a huge bowl of karst structures that blew us away - I had never seen scenery like it. We ended up staying in Phounsouk Guesthouse for 4 days... It was run by two ladies with two little girls and they were fantastic.... More

Visited the caves with tour group Stray. Absolutely beautiful and bigger than I ever imagined. Enjoyable boat trip through them having to get off occasionally due to the water level but actually added to the fun of the trip. You get off at one end and visit a really tiny village before heading back through the caves. Really good way... More

The cave is nice and the first part of the trip is cool too. A little bit of walking through rock formations and a boat trip. Unfortunately the captain doesn't give any information about the cave or whatsoever. The way back is the same track but then opposite which is just a bit to far.
