This lovely little piece of social history, is hidden away in Stalham High Street. I only found it very recently, but it’s extremely interesting

Compact and very interesting, like its curator

Tuesday is the only day the museum is open, but it is well worth a visit. It contains an old horse drawn fire engine, numerous fire brigade helmets, models and other memorabilia however the star is its curator, Gordon. Gordon is a former London policeman before becoming a fireman. His career has taken him up and down the country fulfilling various fire brigade roles before arriving at Stalham, where he saw out his service as the Chief Officer. Gordon's enthusiasm is infectious. Take the time to support this worthy museum, you won't be disappointed.

An hour well spent.

Have visited a few times, am in awe of this little museum, one of Norfolks hidden treasures. If you are in the Stalham area, do yourselves a favour and give this wonderful little place a look.

Unique

A tiny fire house, one of the oldest and smallest in England. Dedicated team of volunteers look after it and welcome passing visitors. Since I live in Stalham, I didn't really travel to visit it; I just strolled along the High Street!

The voluknteers here know so much and are really good at answering questions. In spite of the small space there is so much to look at.

Visit to Stalham.

Would urge anyone who is in the area to visit this wonderful little museum. The people who run it are full of knowledge about the contents on display.

Smallest museum, full of interesting things and well looked after by enthusiastic volunteers. If in the area then it's well worth taking a look inside.

Tiny Fire station museum
Aug 2016 • Family
Stumbled across this tiny original fire station complete with fire pump and many exhibits related to the fire service. Well presented exhibits and knowledgeable volunteer guide. Free admission. Too tiny to access wheelchair. Very quaint and historic fire house.

Musium of old fire engine.
Jul 2016 • Family
A free but small musium about old fire engine's, interesting for young and old alike, it is run by volunteers so do not complain if it is late opening we had to wait 5 minutes but it was worth the wait.
It is run as a charity so donations were gratefully received, the fire engine is on a free loan from the owner of Thomas Cook; so thank you to him.
If you are in the area it is well worth visiting, we were moored up on the broards near the boating musium and it's only a short walk from there.
