Clocha na hEireann is a collaborative 1916 commemoration work between stone masons from every corner of Ireland. They each used stone native to their county to produce a magnificent carving that represented some aspect of their cultural identity. Carvings included everything from county emblems to representations of local mythology, geographical features, architecture and history.

Directly opposite the folk village. A most unusual map of Ireland with stone from each of the 32 counties together with motifs appropriate to the county in question. Look for the two-tailed cat from Tipperary.

There really isn't much to see apart from the map of Ireland constructed with input from a stone mason from each of the counties. The map and quality of the work is impressive and worth looking out for if in the area.

This beautiful piece of artwork is fairly new, but is quite a treasure to be seen. The artist gathered stone unique to each different county in Ireland and formed it into the shape of the county to create the entirety of Ireland. It's tucked away...More

This stone map was unveiled in 2016 as part of the centennial commemoration of the Éirí Amach na Cásca. The different stones are beautiful, and many of them are carved with symbols related to the different counties. It would be perfect if there were a...More

This is the most brilliant piece of public art I have seen in a long time! Each piece made separately from stone locally sourced from each county and fitted together for a truly stunning visual effect! Great photo opportunity!

This is a gorgeous find! It's basically a map of Ireland with each county crafted out of that county's best known rock by a stonemason from that county. Each county is unique and beautifully decorated. It was nice to visit with a group of friends...More
