Clocha na hEireann is a collaborative 1916 commemoration work between stone masons from every corner of Ireland. They each used stone native to their county to produce a magnificent carving that represented some aspect of their cultural identity.

Carvings included everything from county emblems to representations of local mythology, geographical features, architecture and history.

This is a gorgeous find! It's basically a map of Ireland with each county crafted out of that county's best known rock by a stonemason from that county. Each county is unique and beautifully decorated. It was nice to visit with a group of friends from all over Ireland and debate who's county's stone looked the best. Definitely worth a... More

See what a priest was capable of showing the poor plight of this forgotten area that did not have electric lighting, water supply and roads to get into this area in the 60's,remote,off the beaten track, get out to the real country you came to see!

Glencolmcille is a beautiful location and close to Slieve League Cliffs but the folk museum is not worth the drive.

The village is well laid out and informative, with views across the bay. Not far from the archaeological pilgrims way and the tearoom which serves meals.
