We walked the woodland trail from the Armathwaite Hotel overlooking the lake to the waters edge - absolutely stunning - we continued to walk around the edge of the woods until we got to the bridge - fab memories and highly recommended

We were staying at the north end of the lake and although it is picturesque there is not much to do there. There is a sailing club but there is no tourist boat trips. Around the lake is the main road the A66 but there...More

Very good roadside parking with only a short walk to the paths round the lake. Even when it is raining the views are amazing and when the sun shines it is superb.

Beautiful views, stunning nature and a great opportunity to get the camera out. Parking nearby is covered by the national trust, it's worth paying for a full day which then entitles you to park in any national trust car park for that day.

This is a stunning lake just outside Keswick which runs along side the A66. Easy to get to and well worth a visit!

There are regular launches across the lake if you can’t walk the full 20+ mile circumnavigation. National Trut car parks on the east side are £4 minimum but there are free council car parks if you seek them out

Stopped off to walk our three dogs...they had a ball off the lead...playing in the water, running through the trees and generally having fun!! We walked whilst our better halves were on the gin tour (lakes distillery) recommended with or without dogs and an easy...More

Shame we could not find a walk that would enable us to go completely around the lake. Magic location and the mist across the lake in the morning was a photographers delight. No wonder the Ospreys like to nest close to the lake

Hello, I'm sorry you have been misinformed, we didn't cycle round Bassenthwaite lake. Just had a brilliant stay at the Armathwaite Hall Hotel.
