The Epping Ongar Railway is a volunteer run heritage railway which operates steam and diesel hauled trains through 5.5 miles of picturesque rolling countryside and through Epping Forest, along the former London Underground Central Line. We run a variety of special events through the year, including Peppa Pig, 1940's, Halloween Ghost Trains, Santa and Mince Pie Specials. Please check our website for opening times and fares information. over 6 miles of the former London Underground Central Line.

We were collected on a vintage bus and made welcome and taken to the station. The station was interesting with plenty to see . Train ride was great The characters Grinch and Santa were very good. Altogeather a great day out. Would recommend

Expensive train does not get to epping so a waste of time. Many better train lines around . This train upsets the local community due to its pollution. Noise lack of parking. Bad experience.More

THe best place, in my opinion, to start will be Ongar as there is public parking quite close to the railway and it is free on Saturdays and Sundays, however you should plan to be there reasonably early as parking is limited... More
