Had a visit during a weekend getaway. The facility is nice. All the staff were friendly, especially Bendel who tried to make sure every customer have an enjoyable experience. It's a must-do if you visit Grand Cayman. Be sure to bring your swimming suits as there is a chance to snorkeling in the green turtle lagoon.

We (3 families with kids age 4-11) visited midweek late June and had a great time. There is an older gentleman at the front who gave my boy a cayman coin which was really super kind. Make sure to take the map and decide which activities are on your must see/do list since some of them close early (ie the snorkel experience with the turtles). My boy especially loved petting the smaller turtles in the tanks. The on site restaurant has a great variety of lunch items including many kid friendly options as well as adult beverages. The swimming park area was a nice break and the kids loved the slide. We spent about 4-5 hours there and it was definitely worthwhile.

How could anyone give this once-in-a-lifetime experience anything less than a 5 star review?! The only "complaint" I have is that we stopped here for an excursion from our cruise, and I wanted to spend more time enjoying everything that there is to learn about these amazing creatures. The best part of the entire park is the turtle lagoon, where you can swim with the turtles and other tropical fish- It is an amazing experience and a must do for anyone. They provide gear for you if you don't have your own and everyone is required to use a life vest. One end of the lagoon is deep, so you'll find most of the turtles hanging out there. The turtles come right up and swim all around you- They're just as interested in you as you are in them! There is a really cool glass window where you can look right into the predator tank at sharks and barracuda, and one of the best parts is watching the turtles scratch their backs and butts on the rocks and coral- So cute! Because it is as natural of a park as they can make it, note that there is floating algae in the lagoon. It's not horrendous, but it does get a bit tangled in your hair and we heard a bunch of kids complaining about it. I recommend a hair tie for the ladies. I also recommend water shoes for the lagoon, as getting in and out was rather slick. After snorkeling, we visited the huge breeding tank for the turtles and watched their feeding, took a quick walk through the bird aviary (beautiful), saw a bunch of hatchlings in the birthing tanks, and waded with young turtles in a 3ft deep touching tank. There is also a bunch of stuff we didn't do such as eat at the restaurant, shop in the extensive gift shop, swim in the seperate pool w/ slide, attend the predator feeding, and probably much more. We spent so much time enjoying the lagoon that we missed most of the other activities! This was, hands down, my favorite excursion of the entire 2 week cruise- Super clean, gorgeous park, attentive staff, and so much to learn about and see!

Great time of year to visit as no queues or crowds! Unbelievable number of gigantic turtles - make sure you get there for the 11.30 am feeding frenzy.

I had read the reviews here before our trip. The one that stood out was the one commenting on the presence of algae. Before we got in the water, we saw clearly posted signs informing us that the presence of algae is beneficial for the marine life and indicates a healthy environment. Anyway...

We paid our money to do the full tour. We first went to the beach to get our snorkel gear. The gentleman working on that day was not friendly, ran through the instructions in about 20 seconds, and sent us on our way.

My daughter and I got in and spent about a half hour in the large enclosed area. We saw several turtles just living their turtle lives. There was another area where dozens of them were hanging out, presumably that is where they get fed. We much preferred seeing one or two swimming or resting along the floor. This was very enjoyable for us despite the seaweed floating on the surface of the water.

We also saw the hatchery and all of the other turtles in tanks/tubs. We fed the ones in the mating area and had an overall good time.

We took the shuttle from our hotel to the center. I had been under the impression that the shuttle went right from our hotel to the center, but that was not correct. We took a cab back from the center because the shuttle times are fairly inconvenient, or at least were for our schedule.

I would recommend this experience to anyone with children who are able to snorkel especially, and for anyone that loves turtles in general.

Nice place to visit. Part of my group did the swim portion and within 5 minutes of getting in the turtle pool there was some lightening and they had to get out. My 11 niece stated the pool had lots of algae and she thought it was gross. The staff refunded my brother for the swim part of the ticket. The grounds were nice, lots of turtles to see. Employees were friendly and answered our questions. I would recommend going. Aviary is nice too. Lots of parking available.

This was a great excursion to do. Shark feeding, swimming with turtles, and a water park had something for everyone. The turtle lagoon closes earlier than the park so watch your time and snorkel with the turtles first. They provide life jackets and snorkels if you don’t have your own. It’s very hot and there is little shade that gets taken up quickly. Amazing to see sea turtles up so close and would definitely recommend this trip. We had kids from 8-12 years old and it was difficult for the younger ones to snorkel but they could still float with the life jackets and there was an observation place to see the turtles as well.

Toured the turtle center and it was AMAZING! We were told by a local to try have a preservationist walk us around the center since it was a slow day. Doing that made the experience so much better. Kevin and Evaby were so nice and super informative! They made that tour much more fun and exciting. I’m glad we took the time to see the turtles. If you have time this is a definite stop. And if you can ask for Kevin as a guide!!! Two thumbs up! 😁

I am not entirely sure where the previous reviewer went, but it wasn’t the Cayman Turtle Center. The new facilities, (new for me, the last time I was here was 26 years ago) are immaculate. The large pool where all the breeding turtles are is very spacious and although they seem to congregate near the feeding areas they have plenty of room. The smaller tanks used for the midsize turtles are smaller, but not crowded, only 1 or 2 turtles per tank. The area where the small turtles are kept, and touch (yes you can still touch them, though not pick them up, I highly doubt that was ever an option) was off limits initially due to a new coat of paint. We came back later in the morning and we could touch the turtles shells, gently, and they even had 2 wading area open to wade with the baby turtles. The gentleman who was staffing the area was friendly and knowledgeable and explained a great deal about their process of breeding to release. They have a beautiful snorkel area and a wading pool for younger kids, and a nice pool with water slide. There is a big pool just off the snorkel area holding 2 9 foot nurse sharks, and they do a feeding every day for everyone to enjoy. The aviary was great, the staff inside was engaging and very friendly and for a small donation they will give you food and help you to feed the birds out of your hand. The main feeding of the turtles was slightly anti climatic, the just poured a couple of big buckets of turtle food in and let the turtles have at it, though they definitely did not seem to mind.

All things considered definitely worth the time and if you have younger kids it would be very easy to make a day out of this visit.

For the past 30 years we have been coming here for the amazing experience of having contact with a live turtle. I was a kid and the turtle farm was actually across the street where the parking lot is now. Seeing them at different stages of life was amazing. For adults and kids alike the highlight was always handling the turtles. For years there were always guides to explain the turtle and how to handle them responsibly when touching and picking up the turtles. Well it has been a couple of years now due to Covid and for some reason you can no longer touch or pick up the turtles. There was no one around to explain anything and the conditions of the tanks are horrendous. Poor turtles. Some sloppy dressed rude security guy just treated us very poorly and blamed previous guests of the farm ....claiming they injured and even killed many turtles while they were there. So now do to a few bad people and the lack of attendant helping people to learn about the turtle and how to handle them we all suffer. Is it us or the farm that needs to make this experience work once again. I am sad to say that going to the farm is not worth the entrance fee and needs to shut its doors to the public. It is not worth the fee to go in. I have never complained about the cost of anything like this but this place has lost it level of experience it once provided. Until they get the program back into a real hands on experience don't bother going. You can see turtles anytime online or at your local zoo or aquarium. Support your local programs and skip this one until it is back to the way it once was.
