We hired a car to get around the island and one of the highlights of our holiday was the drive from Aldea on the west coast up through the interior passing Roque Bentayga and it's sister, Roque Nublo. The roads were very narrow, steep in...More

It is definitely great place for view guys. Shorter journey compared to the one on the Roque Nublo but BE CAREFUL ABOUT THE OPENING HOURS (just to 5p.m.)!

We went up the mountain and visited the stone wall and the tiny caves and wholes built into the mountain. Finally we went to the museum which was interesting and even free of charge. Last but not least, there are no tourist crowds. Clear recommendation!

The road winds up to the visitor centre where there is a large car park. On the day we visited there was no one else there, no idea if that's normal. The visitor centre is extremely well presented. Lots of interesting information about the history...More

Visited mid-week and mid-morning. Five other cars in the car park. Steep but not too precipitous path leads up to foot of main rock. Small museum has interesting information on local archaeology and past occupants. Cold drinks available.

The great thing about Roque Bentayga is that you get fantastic views of it without having to go up it. As you drive towards Teresa some of the panoramas are simply amazing. Definitely something to see if visiting Gran Canaria.

Great views from the top - it's a much smaller summit than Roque Nublo (where you can walk around quite a bit at the top) - here the path ends abruptly and then you have a smaller area to enjoy the view. It's quite a...More

Went with my friends in mid-December, first we sat in the town for drinks and then drow to the ramp. The rest of the way we went by foot and caught the most amazing sunset. From the ramp to the top it's 20-25 minutes walk...More

I was on my way to the other rock but decided to stop here first. I am glad I did. I am quite out of shape so did not fancy hugging up and down any trails with other tourists at every turn. The museum was...More

Short but fun climb to the top from the car park with plenty of interesting information boards along the way relating to the indigenous history of the Roque and the geological formation. Roque Bentayga was a lot less busy than Roque Nublo so the peacefulness...More
