Went to the Benmore Botanical Gardens in a group of 17 while on holiday in Dunoon. We received a discount on an already good value ticket for being a group so this represents great value for money! The gardens were great (especially the restored Fernery). The cafe also served fantastic food although their warm baguettes were abit pricey. Would highly... More

Visited with a large number of family members and dogs. We were made to feel very welcome. Lovely walk with different routes depending on your mood. Wonderful views if you make it to the top. Fantastic Victorian fernery. My only complaint is cafe is a little pricy but when it's very reasonable to enter didn't mind too much. Definitely recommend... More

This was a beautiful place to just wander and enjoy the scenery and fabulous gardens. We were a bit early to see the rhododendrons in all their glory, but some were out and the colours were gorgeous. You can walk for miles through different themed areas with a huge array of plants, shrubs and trees, lovely little waterfalls running through... More

What a wonderful way to spend 4 hours. The most beautiful garden you will see in this country, even in April. Flat paths for younger or older people, and inclined paths for those who are able. Lovely sights and interesting facts as you walk round. A definite must see if you're in the Dunoon area. And the coffee and gift... More

Benmore Gardens was recommended by a friend who lives in Dunoon. I wasn't expecting much as, Philistine that I am, I prefer more active pastimes than wandering around a garden. Big Mistake. The gardens are on a hill/mountain side and require good walking shoes and a reasonable level of fitness to get to the top (there is also a wheelchair... More

"Garden" is not exactly the right description for the stunning and wild area of landscaping, planting, and history. We were there for just under 2 hours and probably saw less than a quarter of it. Would like to return with longer to enjoy.

We have been to Dunoon numerous times and always wanted to go see the gardens now we had the time we did and we were not disappointed. The squirrel hide was an added bonus watching the red squirrel run around and come so close was amazing and a joy to watch. We did a climb up to the top of... More

We came to Benmore gardens on a cloudy day. There was some works being done in the gardens so there was no admission fee though we did leave a donation. The woman at the cash register was extremely helpful pointing out the squirrel hut. It started to rain so we headed to the squirrel hut. We immediately saw a beautiful... More

Visited here while staying in Dunoon. My daughter had stayed at Benmore on a school trip and was keen to show it off. As it was out of season the gardens were free but there was still loads to see and it was interesting seeing the gardens starting to come to life. Would like to come back and see them... More
