These ruins are relatively unknown and are very well preserved and set in beautiful surrounds. The site is a small pukara similar to the Quilmes ruins and was an important strategic point for protecting the mountain pass from Tafi del Valle before...more

A bib bib cactus national park surrounded by beautiful scenery. There are few places where you can stop but it's well worth to visit it.

This is an area where cacti flourish. There are many cacti and most of them are of the same variety. The road is good and goes through mountainous paths. There are a number of stops where beautiful panoramic photographs can be taken. Occasionally one or...More

I took the 42 from Seclantas to connect with the 33 and this takes you through great forests of Carcon cactus. Great views back to the Calchaque valley. Empty and bad after rains but check conditions and if passable it's worth the effort. Not many...More

After about an hour drive from Cachi on road 33, the scenery is great, with numerous cactus against a backdrop of snow capped mountains. If you are lucky, you may see guanaco llamas around the San Obispo pass.

We drove up from Salta into this national Park and the change in scenery as you drive up into the valley and then the climb up into the park changes rather quickly, from lush green to dry cactus country. I was quite happy to be...More

We drove through the park on our way from Cache to Salta. This is an amazing, huge high altitude national park - didn't have a lot of time but stopped to check out the cactus a few areas. Don't get many of these in Australia....More

This park is amazing. It had stunning vistas, cactus too numerous to count and occasional wildlife; we saw a pair of condors high in the sky. It’s nice to have a guide drive you so you can devote your full attention to the scenery.
